The fight against global warming will shape the 21st century and colleges and universities are on the forefront, leading their communities and society by modeling ways to eliminate global warming emissions, and providing the knowledge and the educated graduates to work toward climate neutrality.

The 2010 Climate Leadership Summit will feature inspiring speakers, provide practical information to support your implementation work, and unite forward-thinking leaders committed to transitioning from good intentions to strategic transformative action.

If you are a college or university president or chancellor, ACUPCC Implementation Liaison or part of your institutional sustainability team, or a higher education representative interested in learning more about the Commitment, please join us in Denver to:

  • Celebrate the accomplishments of this exciting year of major milestones
  • Learn about the national security implications of climate disruption
  • Share effective ways to address key implementation challenges
  • Discuss the future direction of the ACUPCC under your leadership

The American College & University Presidents' Climate Commitment is a high-visibility effort to address global climate disruption undertaken by a network of colleges and universities that have made institutional commitments to eliminate net greenhouse gas emissions from specified campus operations, and to promote the research and educational efforts of higher education to equip society to re-stabilize the earth's climate. Its mission is to accelerate progress toward climate neutrality and sustainability by empowering the higher education sector to educate students, create solutions and provide leadership-by-example for the rest of society.

The ACUPCC provides a framework and support for America's colleges and universities to implement comprehensive plans in pursuit of climate neutrality. The Commitment recognizes the unique responsibility that institutions of higher education have as role models for their communities and in educating the people who will develop the social, economic and technological solutions to reverse global warming and help create a thriving, civil and sustainable society.

Note: Attendees are limited to higher education representatives, the philanthropic community, corporate sponsors and invited guests.
