Dinner on Thursday evening; breakfast, snacks and lunch will be provided on Friday.

Travel

We suggest that you plan your travel to arrive in the afternoon on June 21st.
Summit Registration will take place at the venue.
The Summit will begin promptly at 5:00pm on Thursday evening with a pre-dinner reception.

What METRO stop is closest to American University?
The Tenleytown stop on the red line is where you want to get off. There is an AU shuttle bus that goes from the Tenleytown metro stop to the Tenley campus, Katzen Arts Center, and main campus. The shuttle normally runs every 10-15 minutes during the week.

Walking Directions (see more)

Exit the Metro station using the escalator on your right. When you come up the escalator you will be on Wisconsin Avenue. Take a right to walk down Wisconsin one block. Bear right at the Tenleytown Circle on Nebraska Avenue, you will see a Church on the corner of the circle. Walk up Nebraska Avenue. You will pass the American University Tenley Campus on your right. Continue walking on Nebraska Ave. for about 1/2 mile. Nebraska leads to Ward Circle. Walk around the circle to continue straight on Nebraska. You will immediately see American University directly to your right hand side following Ward Circle.

Via Metro: Take the Blue or Yellow Line to the National Airport Metro stop, at the main terminal.
Via taxi from downtown or Capitol Hill then expect to pay approximately $20.

Via Metro: Take the Orange Line to the West Falls Church stop, then the Washington Flyer shuttle. Or take Metrobus 5A from the Rosslyn or L'Enfant Plaza stops. The Washington Flyer travels to Dulles every half hour from the West Falls Church Metro stop. It will cost $14 round trip or $8 one way.
Via taxi from DC, it will cost approximately $50.

Via Amtrak: Trains (202-484-7540) depart from Union Station and take about 30 minutes to get to BWI. It will cost between $20-30. Via MARC, trains (1-800-325-7245) also leave Union Station, taking about 30 minutes. One-way fare is $5. A free shuttle connects the BWI rail station and terminal.
Via Metro: Take the Green Line to the Greenbelt station, then take Metrobus B30.
Via taxi it will cost between $55 to $70 from D.C.

Metrorail hours are open from 5:30 a.m. weekdays and at 8 a.m. on weekends. Metrorail closes at midnight (2 a.m. on Friday and Saturday). Metrorail fares and passes range from $1.35 to $4.50. Reduced fares are charged during non-rush hours, evenings and weekends. The largest amount of change the ticket machines gives is $5. One day passes ($7.80) allow unlimited rail travel on weekdays after 9:30 a.m. and all day on the weekends. The 7-Day Fast Fare Pass ($39) allows unlimited rail travel for seven consecutive days.

D.C. cabs use meters as of April 1, 2007. The fare system that starts with a $4 minimum and ticks up steadily according to distance and time traveled.

Washington, DC has four quadrants: NW, NE, SW and SE. A quadrant is required to find all Washington addresses. Numbered streets run north and south, with numbers increasing as they move away from the Capitol. Lettered streets run east and west (no J, X, Y or Z). Diagonal avenues bear state names, intersecting streets at traffic circles.
